Energy storage and cogeneration for Mexico’s large energy users

ENEGRIN is the energy company of the Córdova industrial group and part of an international group of technology partners. We design, finance, install and operate battery energy storage systems (BESS) and on-site gas power plants, with savings measured on the bill from CFE, Mexico’s state-owned utility.

Measured savings of 27–37 %

on CFE bills with ENEGRIN BESS in actual operation, depending on season and consumption

No upfront investment

under the shared-savings model: the system pays for itself out of the savings

with automatic transfer, within a 2-hour autonomy at maximum discharge (optional)

Transparency guarantee

The savings we report are the savings you get. And you can verify them.

01 99.98 % Match between the CFE bill we forecast and the bill that arrived. It proves we calculate your bill exactly as CFE does. Reconciliation published every month
02 27–37 % Savings measured on CFE bills with ENEGRIN BESS in actual operation, depending on season and consumption. Not a projection: the range of every reconciled month. Two meters + CFE formulas and tariffs · reproducible by any auditor
03 2 meters Per system: one in parallel with CFE's meter and one on the BESS side. Together they yield the month's actual savings, without inflating them. Readings available to your auditor on request
04 150+ MWh Energy dispatched by the systems ENEGRIN operates, cumulative through the last reconciled month. Updated every month with the reconciliation
05 300+ MW And 600+ MWh of BESS installed in 13 countries and regions by the international group of technology partners we belong to, with the same hardware we install in Mexico. Group project portfolio · plant visits on request

How it works

  1. 01

    Simulate with your bill

The site rebuilds your current bill and shows you the same bill with BESS. If the number is of interest, request a formal proposal in one click.

  2. 02

    Receive a proposal and sign

Our engineering team sizes the system from your bills and delivers a proposal with both payment models. No upfront investment, if you choose.

  3. 03

    We install and operate

An integrated system, with permits and filings included. Our EMS operates the system according to CFE's tariff rules; our engineers supervise it with continuous remote monitoring.

  4. 04

We measure with two meters and reconcile every month

One, in parallel with CFE's meter, replicates its measurement exactly; the other, on the BESS side, measures what we deliver to you. We apply the CFE formulas and tariffs for your region to both. That is how we calculate actual savings, without inflating them.

What we do for your plant

Row of BESS cabinets

BESS · energy storage

A lower bill and a plant with backup

For plants on CFE's GDMTH, DIST or DIT tariffs, or on qualified supply: measured savings of 27–37 % on the bill, a better power factor and, with optional backup, continuous power when CFE's supply fails. If it makes sense for your plant, the same system integrates solar generation, sized from your bills and operated by the same EMS.

Containerized gas generator sets

Cogeneration and gas-fired generation · over 1 MW

Your own power plant, without investing in it

Cummins natural gas engines with an integrated BESS so they run close to maximum efficiency, with power quality guaranteed by contract. If we put the engines' heat to use in your process, as steam, hot water or absorption cooling, it is cogeneration; if not, it is on-site gas generation for self-consumption, under the same model. ENEGRIN finances or builds the plant; you pay for the energy delivered, below what you pay today.

How you pay

Two ways to get the system. You decide how much to invest: nothing, or the full system.

Shared savings: zero investment

ENEGRIN installs, operates and maintains the system. Each month, the savings on your bill cover the service and you keep a share. Guaranteed: you never pay more than you would have paid CFE without the system. You can buy the system later.

Purchase: all the savings are yours

You buy the system at the outset or later on. All the savings stay with your plant, and ENEGRIN continues to operate, monitor and maintain it.

What we guarantee

Four commitments you can measure us against

Guaranteed savings

You never pay more than you would have paid CFE without the system. It is written into the contract.

Full transparency

Two meters, CFE's formulas and a reconciliation published every month. Any auditor can reproduce the calculation.

We don't inflate savings or overpromise

The simulator and the proposal give you the number you should then see on your bill. If the system doesn't make sense for you, we tell you before asking you for anything.

We don't sell generic equipment

We develop Ollin, the EMS and platform that operate your system, in-house, using artificial intelligence built for Mexico's tariff rules. The hardware is Siemens, Cummins and Tier 1 cells, depending on the system; the brain is Mexican.

Who it is for (and who it is not)

A good fit

  • ✓Any large consumer on CFE's GDMTH, DIST or DIT tariffs, or buying through qualified supply or another private-supply scheme: factories, hospitals, hotels, data centers, shopping centers.
  • ✓Energy bills above MXN 200,000 a month
  • ✓Large consumers above 1 MW that want to generate their own power (cogeneration or on-site gas generation)
  • ✓Plants that lose production to outages or poor power quality

Not a fit

  • –Low voltage, or energy bills below MXN 200,000 a month: the savings do not justify an industrial system. The simulator tells you so before asking you for anything.
  • –Residential use.

Mexico, 2026

The grid can no longer keep up. The law now allows you to generate at your plant.

The grid

  • 285 alert and 49 emergency declarations on Mexico's national power system in 2024.1
  • An average of 117 minutes without power per user in 2024.1
  • 91 % of industrial parks reported supply failures in 2023.2
  • Mexico's peak demand will grow by more than 50 % by 2039.3

The law

  • Mexico's 2025 Electricity Sector Law allows any large consumer to generate its own power on site, including cogeneration and storage; from 0.7 MW, with a generation permit from the CNE, Mexico's National Energy Commission.4
  • A battery system inside your plant does not require a storage permit if the energy is used only in your plant.5
  • For self-consumption plants of 0.7 to 20 MW, the Self-Consumption One-Stop Shop (Ventanilla Única de Autoconsumo) coordinates the filings, and the CNE rules on the generation permit within a maximum of 30 business days.6
  • CFE itself will install 2,216 MW of batteries between 2025 and 2030.7

Your tariff

  • The GDMTH capacity charge in CFE's Norte division rose 33 % between its 2018 and 2025 annual averages (CFE monthly series, compiled by ENEGRIN).
  • The capacity charge is one of the bill items that BESS reduces.
  • Worldwide, 108 GW of batteries were installed in 2025, 40 % more than in 2024; one in five at industrial and commercial sites.8

The grid will not grow at the pace of your plant, and every outage or voltage fluctuation costs production and equipment. The law now permits the alternative. ENEGRIN designs, finances and operates it: your own stable, high-quality power, measured with CFE’s formulas. Under the shared-savings model, the client does not invest.
