How we measure and reconcile savings

What we say we save is what we save, and you can verify it. This document describes the method ENEGRIN uses to measure BESS savings and reconcile them every month, so your auditor or finance team can reproduce the calculation.

The two meters

Meter 1, in parallel with CFE

It measures, in parallel, the same as CFE’s meter. We apply your bill’s formulas and tariffs (CFE’s or your supplier’s) to its reading, item by item: base, intermediate and peak energy, billable demand, capacity, distribution and power factor, VAT included. That is how we reproduce your bill before it arrives.

Meter 2, on the BESS side

It measures the energy the system delivers to you, valued with the same tariffs and formulas as your bill. With the two meters we obtain what you would have paid without the system and what you paid with it. The difference is your actual savings for the month.

Both are certified class 0.1S meters (IEC 62053-22), more accurate than CFE’s.

Monthly reconciliation

Before your bill arrives, the Ollin Platform has already calculated what it will say. When it arrives, the forecast is reconciled against the actual bill and the difference is published on your dashboard.

99.98%average match between forecast and actual bill, last three billing months
27–37%measured savings on the CFE bill, depending on season and consumption
0.1Saccuracy class of both meters (IEC 62053-22)

On a bill of one million pesos, the difference between forecast and actual is about 200 pesos. That match shows the calculation reproduces CFE’s. The savings are shown by the range measured on those reconciled bills.

How to audit it

Any auditor can reproduce the calculation

  1. Readings from the two meters. They are the basis of every reconciliation. Your auditor can review them on request.
  2. Your bill’s tariffs. The ones CFE publishes every month for your division, available at enegrin.com/en/tariffs/, or those in your supply contract.
  3. The same formulas. The bill is calculated item by item, the way CFE or your supplier does it. The Ollin Simulator uses the same calculation engine.
  4. Access for your auditor or finance team. A read-only user on the Ollin Platform for the third party you designate. If you wish, an external auditor reviews the entire system.

What you see every month on the Ollin Platform

The guarantee

You never pay more than you would have paid without the system.

It is written into the contract and applies under both models. Under shared savings, everything you pay ENEGRIN each month is a percentage of savings measured with this method. If savings are lower one month, you pay less. If there are no savings, you pay nothing.
